About the video
Setting objectives using the acronym SMART was a technique developed in the 19080s and has since become a popular framework used to structure effective goal and objective setting.
All organisations need to set objectives. They are important because they focus the management and staff. Businesses that have SMART objectives are successful because they are clear about what they are trying to achieve and how they will do it.
For all these reasons, a basic understanding of how to use the SMART acronym is often included in many and varied training programmes.
